-3 Feb 2K7-When Congress Sleeps With Lobbyists

Just when you thought congress was working for you, when the Senators began in the new year they had a Bill (S1) to provide a greater transparency in the legilative process in which one of the sections ( Sec 113) Prohibits official contact with spouses or immediate family members who are "registered" lobbyists.

Now think about this, Bob Dole is no longer in Congress. His wife is and he now works as a lobbyist for a corporation. So technically he has an inside track to other congressman on issues concerning the company he works for. This is not the only case, Senator Stevens from Alaska (wife Catherine Stevens) and Kent Conrad from North Dakota also have/had a spouse the is a lobbyist.

Whe a congressman holds a top position the "Lobby Spouse" also now holds power as well as the corporation they work for. This is something that should of been looked at along time ago. -29 October 2K6 "The New Draft"

Although Congressman Rangel (New York 15th district) feels a certain way on the war. He now submits a proposal in congress of which to re-instate the "Youth Draft". Meaning if he suceeds, our draft age sons will no longer have a choice to participate in a "undeclared war" that they did not vote for.
As Stated below, many retirees have been pulled back as part of the "Back Door Draft" and there has even been a "Mercenary Draft" in which Contractors are now doing "Jobs" that the military once did.
When a military is "requesting" for more bodies is it not funny that they are still cutting the forces. It it more cost effective to bring in a young drafted troop and send him versus sending those that are ready to cut? If you are a voter in the New York 15th district I would think twice come time to re-elect this Politician. Click on the text below to see it from the congressmans own site.

-24 September 06, Holitics vs Politics

As November rolls around we are beginning to see more ads for people seeking positions in public office. From a Grand-Ma in Austin Texas, Bill Richardson running for another term in New Mexico, and Yes Even The "Governator" Arnold is back on the campaign trail.
The title of this piece has the word "Holitics" (you saw it here first) which blends Hollywood Status and Politics. If I were to add a definition it would be ( To have or use Celebrity notoriety to gain votes for political office ) Then Star Arnold Schwarzenegger tore apart Governor Davis not because he had the political knowledge or a Degree. It was because he was known for being a "Bad Ass" on the big screen. He even used phrases from his own movies to aid his campaign.
Of course having the backing from the family that once was a political powerhouse (aka John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Chappaquiddick Legend and current office holder Teddy Kennedy )
If John "P" Dufuss had run, Davis would still be in office screwing things up. But the voters knew the name and thus Arnold "Terminated" the opposition.
Now many Holiticians have made strong moves in politics even
As high as the President ( we all knew Ronald "Da Gipper" Reagan ) . Others include Clint Eastwood, Sunny Bono, Fred Thompson, Jesse Ventura, and even "Gopher" (Fred Grady) of the Love Boat T.V. Series.
Now the thing I do hope and will preach is for everybody that is a US Citizen pick up a ballot and vote. As a retiring military member, this was one of my reasons to protect our Nation. A right that many have given their lives for.
Please look at who is running for office in your state. Look at the person who was and what he/she did. Is your state better for the work they did or worse.
As for me I will not vote for anybody based on how many movies he/she made but what they hope to do for the people of that state. (And if they can't keep the promises they offer, get them the hell out of office)

- 19 September 06, Absentee Ballot

In the mail, I received my ballot for the up coming elections in California, I am happy to see more than just two parties in the mix. I still believe that DI-FI must Go and will vote for another. Does a person that has $25 million in assets to run a campaign have my best interest in mind? How did she get that money and what will she have to do for it? As we get further into the elections I will looking at everybody and what is being voted on in the Big Bear State.

Believe it or Not, I Will Vote For anybody that runs against the incumbent Di-Fi. Ever since her first term, she has never impressed me. But still contiues to be the Voice of Califorina in the Senate. We as Californian voters must not allow anybody to just walk into office .....

Do Not allow this woman to run again......

7 Jan 06- Lighting The Way...

A new year, and new beginnings. The big question, will we be part of those upcoming changes. Hopefully, you will be a voice that yells for it. Especially in Congress, as some members in both houses are getting ready for their 2006 re-election.
Should they be allowed to walk in unopposed? What have they done for your state? As we have seen over the last few weeks letting elected officials "slide" back into office can sometimes lead to abuse of power and illegal activity.
As voters, we are the "Check and Balance". We must look at the record and say "Yes you have helped me, my family and my state" or "No, you have helped yourself and no other, you are a cancer that must be removed"
I am asking each US Citizen to do his/her duty and vote.
As a Californian, I wish to see an end to the time of Senator Feinstein. Over the last decade there have been many changes and none of them I see have been very helpful to California. She (and Senator Boxer) were non responsive during the first Military Base Alignment when California lost money and jobs as many Military Bases though out the state were picked off one by one.
Californians need to seek a choice and support a person that will HELP the state. To be "the voice" of the people, and listen when needed.
Heck, even I am looking at the possibility of challenging the incumbent for the Senate seat. This may be a real David vs Goliath as Rich "AMeN" Gill (independent) is seeking to challenge Senator Feinstein. I may end up a "write-in" candidate. But maybe, I will be the "People's Choice".
I have served this country for over twenty years and my time is coming to a close as my retirement can be seen in the horizon. I have seen much in the Armed Forces over the last two decades to include reductions in materials, money and now manpower ( those who wish to protect those freedoms you hold so dear). Even now more "cuts" are in the works and now military members are being given a version of a "pink slip". I was sad to see allot of good Airmen who hoped for a career to be told that they "adapt" or "Go home". Changes need to be made that support a nation, and not a contractor's wallet

As the Baby Boomers are getting to the age when they will be taking thier piece of the pie(and it will be a very big chunk). As the boom simmered so did the children and they are to be the pillar trying to hold up everybody.

-14 October 04 - Staring at my Ballot

I'm glad to see there are more than Two Parties on my voter card. Sorry to say That I have never heard of any of these Candidates before. So I headed off to each party to look up some info to get a better Idea on who will get my ballot. First up on the list is the American Independant Party with Michael Anthony Peroutka and Chuck Baldwin. I sent out an email and am waiting a response.

-9 October 04 - Attack, Attack, Attack!

I have never see a time when politicians have gotten so ugly, losing focus on many issues and taking the low road in shining a light on the competitors dirty laundry. According to all the commercials, they endorse this mud slinging and call it "okay"

I say take all that money spent trashing out your running mate and put to a better use. Maybe buying schools new books where needed or helping the Armed Forces update some of their equipment and supporting them when they need it most.

-8 October 04 - Its Time for A Third Party

For many years we have been told that our government is seperated into three parts so that no one would have supreme power. It takes two of the three to overide a negative response. Only President Rosevelt came close when he had control over the Supreme Court.

Yet we have only two real powers in Goverment making all the decisions. What we need is a Third Party to level the field of power. The new party must become as strong as the other two. Between the Democratic Donkey and the Republican Elephant we need an animal that Soars above. IT must show power, pride and a belief that changes are made to benefit each citizen. the Idependence Party should have the Eagle as thier symbol. Strong, Free, and of course Independant.
