US Army Representatives Chris Wilson and JT Lee Accept The First "Best Of Branch" Trophy.
In 2001 the USMSI begins its Start and with the help of Jonathan Brookfield, and the Surf 4 Life Event. It is able to give away it's first boards to the best of the Armed Forces for 2002.

For 2K3, We Gave Away 8 Surfboards.Well Known Shapers Jorge Vicente and Paulo Christo donated thier time to our program . We also had Active Duty Members Makani Mcdonald (USAF), Jason Tagalin (USN) and Tim Lilien (USCG) also show off thier board making talents. California based company Watergirl Original donated a Board Specifically for Female Surfers and Herb Pruse designed a shape for the Groms of the contest.
