The being land locked no longer means Surfing is out. As Moses Mokuahi (From Oahu) gives Members of the USMSI a tour of his favorite place when he can't hit the the shores of Hawaii.
Moses came to Las Vegas to work on the new casinos. When he heard about the wave pool at Mandalay Bay he was there from the design to completion.
As the Director, he has learned every aspect of the pools operations. From the generators that force the water into the holding cells. To the pumps used to raise the massive gates. He "is" the wave pool.
" We have full control over how we want our waves to break" Moses informs us as he diplays the control panel. "We can raise the wave height to 6 foot and have it go left, right or in the middle. We can even create a nice barrel".
"Our normal height is 3 foot, witth 88 seconds in between each wave.We have it break at the widest point to give more guests the chance to catch a wave"
To get a chance to ride the "inland break" you must be a guest at the Madalay Bay.
